Wiring the TBCharge

Wiring the TBCharge

The TB charge range of products are supplied with an Isolating transformer, similar to a shaver socket, and should be considered the same as a shaver socket for installation purposes.

There are 3 options

1. Replacing an existing shaver socket
This is the simplest install, and the wiring should simply be swapped from the existing shaver socket to the TB Charge product

Where no existing power supply exists you will need to use options 2 or 3

2. Existing lighting circuit
Taking a feed wire from the bathroom lighting circuit to connect to the charger. This is generally the most popular method as an existing 15 Amp lighting circuit should be present in most bathrooms. This should be connected with 1mm twin & earth cable from the permanent live loop in the ceiling to the TBCharge

3. Existing socket circuit
If taking a feed from a 30 Amp socket (power) circuit, its essential that a FCU fused at a maximum of 3 amps is placed between the charger and the power circuit. The cable from the existing socket circuit to the FCU should be 2.5mm twin and earth and the cable from the FCU to the TBCharge should be 1mm twin and earth.

All Electrical circuits should be protected with Earth leak Curcuit breakers (ELCB).
Option 1 can be completed by a competent person.
Options 2 & 3 should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
